Joseph Papa Obituary
Born in Cumberland he was the son of the late Dominico and Angela (Prete) Papa. He was a life long Cumberland resident.
He was employed by the former Owens Corning Fiberglass Corp., Cumberland for thirty four years retiring in in 1972.
He was a communicant of Historic St. Joseph Church, Cumberland and a member at the Cumberland Senior Center.
Besides his wife he leaves two sons, Joseph P. Papa of Easton, MD and Thomas L. Papa of North Smithfield. He also leaves four grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He was the father of the late Joann Bechard and brother of the late Marie Iannetta, Carmine, Sylvester and Antonio Papa.
His funeral will be held Wednesday at 8 a.m. from the J. J. Duffy Funeral Home, 757 Mendon Rd. Rt. 122, Cumberland. Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Historic St. Joseph Church, Mendon Rd., Cumberland. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Cumberland. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours Wednesday morning from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, 222 Richmond St., Suite 204, Providence, RI 02903.

My Uncle Joe,
What wondeful memories I have of you! At the risk of getting all of my other cousins mad at me-you are my favorite! I remember how you used to let me sit on your lap, even when JoAnn and Joseph were in the living room,too.
I was fortunate enough, as a young child, to spend alot of time in the Papa house-more times than not.. it was a safe haven for me. Thank God I had all of you!
My prayers and thoughts are with you, Aunt Helen, Joseph, Tom, and family! I know that he is looking down and smiling at all of us!
