Matthew Leporacci Obituary

LEPORACCI, MATTHEW STEVEN, 59, of Providence, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, October 25. Born in Fort Belvoir, VA, he was the son of the late Matthew and Philomena 'Vilma' (Amato) Leporacci.

Steve was a self-employed real estate appraiser. In the past he had worked at Bradley Hospital and RI Family and Child Services, and was the Director of the census bureau in RI. He was a member of the Rhode Island Committee Employer Support of the National Guard and Reserves, and he volunteered regularly at the Rhode Island Food Bank.

Steve received a Bachelor of Science degree from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri.

The light of Steve's life was his children, Matthew John and Jessica Marie. He was the beloved brother of Elaine Barlow and her husband Mark, and a loving uncle to Christopher, Jeffrey and Benjamin Barlow. He is also survived by his aunt Doreen Leporacci along with many cousins.

Steve was an avid Patriots and Red Sox fan. He was known for his incredible sense of humor and wonderful loving heart.

As were his wishes, his life will be celebrated in a memorial service on Thursday, November 1 at 6:00 PM at the Channing Memorial Church, 135 Pelham St, Newport, RI. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve's memory can be made to the Rhode Island Food Bank, 200 Niantic Ave., Providence, RI 02907.

To Matt's(Steve)Family,
I meet him while working for the Cenus 2000. Ever since then we have become friends
We have formed a bond that cannot be broken, even by death.
I feel that the World has become a little darker without his light to shine on all of us. A light of which, I may never see again in my lifetime.
