Maria Fonseca Obituary
Mrs. Fonseca was born in Fall River, MA, the daughter of the late Manuel and Herminia (Loureiro) Rebello. She had lived in Pawtucket since 1943 until moving to Hope Valley four years ago. She owned and operated Sally's Beauty Salon in Pawtucket for over 40 years.
Mrs. Fonseca was a longtime communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Pawtucket. She was a member of the Beth-Yeshua Prayer Group there and a member of its Women's Club.
Besides her husband she leaves two sons, John F. Fonseca of Coventry and Dennis J. Fonseca of Kingston; two brothers, Antonio and Fernando Rebello; two sisters, Odessa Nunes and Theresa Monuteaux; seven grandchildren, John J., Derek, Jacob, Danielle, Joseph, Alexander, and Michael.
The funeral for Mrs. Fonseca will be from the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, Monday, at 10:00am. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph's Church, Walcott St., at 11:00am. Relatives and friends are invited. Her calling hours will be Monday morning from 8:30 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Home and Hospice Care of RI, 169 George St., Pawtucket RI 02860 in Maria Fonseca's memory. Condolences to all of you in your loss of your mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. She was a pistol! Very funny, generous and friendly.
