Frances Butera Obituary

BUTERA, FRANCES (GUARINO), 86, of Nardolillo Street, passed away November 30th.

Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Marco and Anna (Paolino) Guarino and the wife of the late Joseph A. Butera.

Mrs. Butera was the beloved mother of Frances R. Giudici and her husband Joseph L., Sr., Joanne M. DiOrio and her husband Ronald, and the late Joseph A. Butera; treasured grandmother of JoAnn M. and Joseph L. Giudici, Jr., Nicholas A. and Andreana M. DiOrio; and sister of Carlo and Lorenzo Guarino.

Visitation will be held Sunday, 4-7 p.m. with a funeral on Monday at 8:30 a.m. from the PONTARELLI-MARINO Home, 971 Branch Avenue, Providence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in the Holy Apostles Church, 800 Pippin Orchard Road, Cranston, followed by interment in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of RI, 757 Park Avenue, Cranston, RI 02910. www.mem.com

Joanne & Fran,
I was very upset to hear of your mom's death. She was a remarkable women. I have very fond memories of her and will miss her. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Fran and Joanne... I was so sorry to hear of your Mom's death. I was sorry I was unable to come to the wake but I did attend her mass at Holy Apostle Church today. It was a beautiful and dear service... the girls did a beautiful job with the readings.
I apologize for not staying but I had to get back to work and did want to extend my sympathies for Mrs. Butera. I have many fond memories of Peach Hill Ave... :)
