Maria Pezzulli Obituary

PEZZULLI, MARIA GLORIA (FURTADO), 66, of Providence, Rhode Island died peacefully at home on Thursday evening, November 8, 2007. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Pezzulli of Providence, Rhode Island and owner of her much loved fox terrier, Sadie Mae. She was born on December 6, 1940 in Weymouth, Massachusetts. She was the daughter of the late Frank and Rosemary (Haslett) Furtado.

Mrs. Pezzulli owned and operated Pezzulli's Cafe with her family in Jamestown and Newport, Rhode Island from 1986-2000. She and her family then settled in Providence where she managed the Catering Collaborative Cafe on Hope Street. Her co-workers and friends will sadly miss her. She especially loved spending time with her family, often traveling to Italy with them. Mrs. Pezzulli was a communicant of the Church of the Redeemer, Providence.

She was the devoted and loving mother of daughters, Suzanne M. Pezzulli and Barbara J. Pezzulli of Providence, Rhode Island and son, William G. Pezzulli and his wife Michelle of Seekonk, Massachusetts. She was greatly admired and loved by her siblings, June Husted of Tampa, Florida, Sally Furtado of Lawrence, Massachusetts, Barbara Gardner of St. Louis, Missouri and Howard Furtado of Brockton, Massachusetts. Her grandchildren, Isabella (6) and William Pezzulli (4), will sadly miss her smiles and their playtime with her.

A Memorial Service will be held on December 6, 2007 in honor of her birthday at the Church of the Redeemer at 4 p.m. Relatives and friends are warmly invited to attend.
