Michael Carmody Obituary
Born in Providence on February 3, 1970, a beloved son of Mary 'Murph' F. (Ollis) Carmody and the late Thomas M. Carmody, he was a lifelong resident of South County. Michael had been a self employed shell fisherman for more than 20 years.
Besides his wife Carina and his mother Mary, Michael is survived by one son Michael T. Carmody, Jr. living at home; three daughters Jocalynn D. Carmody living at home, Kirstie Bequette of West Warwick, Katie Bequette of West Warwick; one sister Kelly Perry of Georgia.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday December 4th at 10 a.m. in St. Francis Church, 114 High Street, Wakefield. Burial will follow in New Fernwood Cemetery in Kingston. Visiting hours will be held in the Forbes Funeral Home, 28 Columbia Street, Wakefield on Monday from 5-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Michael, Jr. & Jocalynn Carmody Scholarship Fund C/O Citizen's Bank, 51 Main Street, Wakefield, RI 02879.

I was out on the Pond this afternoon and heard about Mikes passing.I have been running into him (and buying the freshest softshells ) for 8 years out there.Always pleasant and always bent over working that fork.Last of an era, no one else can find 'em the way Mike could.And he told me a secret spot to get a big bass in the spring.When I catch one there I will think of him.

Mike has been a lifelong buddy whose presence out on the water has always been a warm reminder of our younger days. We shared the struggles of fishing and the respect of each other. Today was a lonely day out in Wickford Harbor without Mike. Even though it was cold, I know Mike would have been out there too. I'll never forget him.
