Edmund Romoli Obituary

ROMOLI, EDMUND R., 82, of Sharon Ave., Pawtucket, died Sunday, December 2, 2007, at home. He was the beloved husband of the late Shirley M. (Jackson) Romoli.

Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late Merino and Anna (Ferri) Romoli. He was a life long resident of the city.

An Army Veteran of WWII, Mr. Romoli was an ex-P.O.W. having served in Germany.

Before his retirement, Mr. Romoli was employed by the Pawtucket Postal Service for many years. He was a member and former commander of the American Ex-Prisoners of War Chapter 1; the RI Chapter 24 of the Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge; the Barrington Post #8 Chapter of American Legion; the DAV, the NARFE and the AmVets.

He is survived by a son, James J. Walker of Sonoma, CA; 2 daughters, Susan L. Leeming of No. Smithfield and Judith A. Barlow of Cranston; 3 grandchildren, Ian Leeming, and Timothy and Jennifer Barlow; 1 niece and 1 grand nephew. He was the brother of the late Merino 'Ted' Romoli.

The funeral service will be held in the MANNING-HEFFERN FUNERAL HOME, 68 Broadway, Pawtucket, Friday, December 7 at noon to which relatives and friends are invited. Calling hours from 10 AM in the funeral home. Burial, with full Military Honors, will be held in Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Prospect St., Pawtucket.
