Ethel Whetstone Obituary

WHETSTONE, ETHEL (ASPINALL), 85, died Monday, December 3 at Woonsocket Health Center, Woonsocket. She was the wife of the late Albert E. Whetstone.

Born in Bolton, Lancashire, England, a daughter of the late James and Sarah (Horton) Aspinall, she had lived in Cumberland for 32 years before moving to Providence and then to Lincoln.

Mrs. Whetstone was employed by Lorraine Manufacturing Company, Pawtucket before retiring. She had also worked as a setter at A.T. Cross.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Lincoln.

She was a member of Queen Esther Chapter #2, Order of the Eastern Star, Pawtucket, and the Smithfield Avenue Seniors. She volunteered at the Smithfield Avenue Thrift Store.

She is survived by one sister, Irene Rogers of Cumberland; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Harry Aspinall.

Her funeral will be held FRIDAY, DECEMBER 7 at 11 A.M. from BELLOWS-FALSO FUNERAL CHAPEL, 160 River Road, Lincoln with services at 12 Noon in Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland Street, Lincoln. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston.

Relatives and friends are invited and may call THURSDAY 3-7 P.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Whetstone Memorial Fund of Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 Woodland Street, Lincoln, RI 02865 would be appreciated. For Directions and Guest Book, please visit www.bellowsfh.com.

Dear Irene,
I was so sorry to hear of Ethel's passing.I have many fond memories of both Ethel and Al and also Mrs.Aspinall.I'm glad that I was able to keep in touch with her for all these years after they moved back to RI. I will remember her fondly.
