He was born Dec. 17, 1927, in Detroit, the son of Wilfred W. and Irene (Cassidy) Cascagnette. Wil lived in the Detroit area for many years and also in the Traverse City area. He moved to the Weidman area before moving to Alma.
He served in the Army during WWII and worked for Corvo Iron Works in Farmington for many years. He also did appliance repair and was in general a jack of all trades.
Wil is survived by eight children; Sharon Stevens of Florida, Lonny (Linda) Cascagnette of Whitmore Lake, Mike (Jeanette) Hayden of Ann Arbor, Jeff Cascagnett, Jill (John) Marlin, Joy Cascagnett and Jody (Valerie) Cascagnett all of Traverse City and Justin (Angela) Cascagnett of Buckley; also many grandchildren and great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, John Andrew Marlin, and his two sisters, Donna and Margaret.
Memorial services for Wil will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Andrew Marlin Memorial Scholarship Fund, 4503 S. Manor Wood Dr., Traverse City, MI. 49684.
