Edith was born Aug. 1, 1932, in Flint, the daughter of Archer Holford Butler and Ollie Gertrude Looney. On Dec. 19, 1953, in Flint, she married her loving husband of 54 years, John L. Hamelin, who survives.
Edith enjoyed her life and took a great interest in the lives of friends and family.
She was an avid Civil War enthusiast, touring battlefields and historic sites with her husband, John, while researching her family genealogy back to the 1700s.
Throughout her life, she drew great pleasure in playing the piano, reading and golfing with friends and her husband.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Sue Hamelin in 1989; and her sisters, Jane Davidson and Reba Derickson.

Lynn, Skip and the Hamelin family,
Donna and I were deeply saddened to hear of the passing of your loved one. I will always remember Edith greeting me with her wonderful smile and showing me a good sense of humor, kindness and endless patience. I wish we could be there to offer our support in this difficult time but will send our prayers instead in hopes of comforting your family in some small way. Remember the good times and God bless Edith F. Hamelin

Dearest Lynn & Skip, Joetta & Mark, Paul & Marty, Mr. Hamelin and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of the sudden illness and passing of Mrs. Hamelin. Please know that my thoughts are with you at this sad time for all of you. Going back to my waitressing days at the Blue Bird, Mr. and Mrs. Hamelin were some of my favorite customers. I remember a very beautiful and classy lady, and seeing her and Mr. Hamelin together, smiling and happy, nice people who raised a wonderful family with great work ethics. May it help to ease your heavy hearts knowing others share in your sadness.
Love and blessings,
Vicki Skeba Houdek
