Anita worked during her 20s at the Hansen Camp in Fife Lake.
She married Laurel VanderBrook in 1938 in Cadillac.
She was a member of the Farm Bureau.
Anita enjoyed reading, cooking watching birds, living on the lake and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her brother, Raymond and Helen Davenport, of North Carolina; niece, Kathy and nephew, Tom Maxwell of Cadillac; great-nephew, Rob and Julia Maxwell of Cadillac; great-nieces, Linda and Randy Bartlett of Kansas and Laurie Maxwell of Cadillac; and great-nephew, Tom and Donna Maxwell of Cadillac.
Graveside services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, 2008, at the Springfield Township Cemetery in Fife Lake. The Rev. Thomas E. Ball will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Arrangements are being handled by Hitesman—Holdship Funeral Home Cadillac.
