He was the beloved husband of the late Yvonne; dearest father of Renee (David) Laine, Denise Smith, Derrick Smith, Laurice (Peter) Smith and Bryan (Carol) Smith. John is also survived by seven grandchildren; was great-grandfather of Marlee; and dear brother of Nancy (Calvin) Hanawalt.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m., at Wujek-Calcaterra and Sons, Inc., 36900 Schoenherr at Metro Parkway (16 Mile). Visitation will be Sunday, from 3 to 9 p.m., also at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Memorials directed to the Multiple Myeloma Foundation will be appreciated.
