After visiting northern Michigan most of her life, Pat decided to raise her seven children in Traverse City. She believed they would receive a better quality of life, and she was right.
Pat loved the natural beauty this region had to offer. She had a great passion for life; you could always find her attending to her flower beds and wanting to plant more than she could handle.
She was a member of Saint Francis Catholic Church; the Interlochen Eagles; and the American Military League, where she was very active in all areas of the club.
After retiring from the Michigan Unemployment Office (MESC), Pat enjoyed volunteering with many local organizations. Pat loved being an Ambassador with the National Cherry Festival and utilized her skills as a tax assistance volunteer with the Traverse City Senior Center.
Pat was always celebrating life with her network of family and friends, spending time fishing, playing cards at the club and enjoying a good concert.
Pat's family would like to thank her friends for helping her with travel to meetings, shopping and her other errands; your loyalty and support is appreciated. She knew she was blessed with much love from all who knew her.
Pat is survived by children, David (Debra) Ott, Terry (Roger) Garrett and Daniel Ott, all of Traverse City, Cindy Buchan of Maple City and Vicky Silva of Kingsley; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a very large extended family.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Helen Cox and Delores Liebetrau; daughter, son-in-law and grandson, Linda, Leo and Lee Mickles; daughter, Mary Griffin; son-in-law, Mike Silva; and grandson, William "Billy" Buchan.
There will be a celebration of life service at 3 p.m., Sept. 21, 2008, at the Fellowship Church, 2555 Garfield Road N, with the Rev. Jon DeBruyn officiating. Sharing of memories will continue at 4:30 p.m. at the AML, 2423 Sybrandt.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family at time of services.

To Terry & Vicki & the rest of the family, Sorry to hear about your mom. She will be remembered as the one that was right there to help with any event. I use to give her rides home from the AML after she quit driving. Our thoughts are with you all.

Just the short time I knew and worked with Pat, she was a fun and also funny person. I enjoyed her humor at the office as we seemed to have somewhat the same attitudes toward life and work. I saw her just before I retired from my last job and found she had to give up driving. I dont look forward to doing that. I will miss her greatly. Reuben

Our hearts go out to Pats family; especially since I lost my Mother Valentines Day this year. Pat was like the older sister I never had and we were the best part of my State career. See Lifestyles for more detail about Pat and I. See you this p.m.
