I was so sadden to hear of Val's passing. The strange thing is, I saw an SUV that reminded me of Val on my way home from work this past Friday night and then I learned of this tragedy on Sunday evening. Maybe it was Val's way of saying goodbye! My prayers are with all of you. I will hold fond memories of Val in my heart! He was a such a sweet, kind and gentle man! He will be missed!

Lucy and family,

Carli and I will always hold dear our memories of Uncle Val. He always helped make the summers fun and delighted us with stories and pictures and his extraordinary cooking. Val was one of the most interesting and loving people we have ever met. Uncle Val was family to us and I will always be greatful for the way he helped my little girl feel at home when I couldn't be there. We will miss him very much, but we will always smile when we remember him. We are greatful to have had him in our lives.

With Love,
Tami Adams and Carli Ortega

Was shocked to read the paper and see Val's name there. What a great guy, he use to come into our store the Middletown Army and Navy for his hunting and archery supplies and a debate or two every now and then. My deepest and most sincere sympathies to the family. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Lucy, Mary, Antoinette & family...
I found this very comforting when I lost my Brother, & I hope that it helps you just the same...

In the Next Room

Death is nothing at all:
I have only slipped away into the next room.
I am I and you are you;
Whatever we were to each other, that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way which you always used.
Put no difference in your tone:
Wear no forced air or solemnity or sorrow.
Laugh as we always laughed at the
little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me, pray for me.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?
I am but waiting for you, for an interval,
somewhere very near,
Just around the corner. All is well.

Today and always, may loving memories bring you strength, comfort, and peace.

Little Val will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts & prayers are with you all today & always...

Love from Sandy, Nicole & Diana

Val, you will be so missed. I made several attempts over the years to call you, but never got an answer. I always relayed my love & regards to you, to my Dad and your Dad. I did finally speak to you during Dominic's funeral and was so happy I did. I always looked up to you as I did many of my cousins. I pray that you are in a better place. I love you so much and will miss you more than you probably ever knew I did.
Your cousin, Denise
