Jean Hughes Obituary

Jean Hinton Hughes, 85, of Marion, died Monday, August 11, 2008, at Francis Marion Manor, Marion, Va. She was born September 7, 1922, a daughter of the late John Grant Hinton and Beatrice Parker Hinton. Jean was born in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., and following her marriage moved to Virginia in 1949. Her family and the beloved Hunting Creek Library Committee will always cherish the memory of her steady presence, her sound advice and her quiet faith. In addition to parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Earl Cavil Hughes. She will live on in the memories of her two daughters, Beatrice "Betsy" Hughes Hall and husband, Kenneth D. Hall, of Marion, Va., and Margaret "Margie" Hughes Anderson and husband, David K. Anderson, of Big Island; five grandchildren, Melissa Hall Scott and husband, Ric Scott, of Roanoke, Mark Cavil Hall and wife, Emily, of Virginia Beach, Karin Elisabeth Anderson, Johanna Beatrice Anderson and Liesel Jean Anderson, all of Big Island; and one greatgrandchild, Christopher Cavil Hall. Betsy & Ken,
You had a sweet Mom. I enjoyed seeing her at church and serving her at FMM, through the Sunshine Cart.
