Laura Bell Gross Martin

Laura Bell Gross Martin, 57, of Chilhowie, Va., passed away Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at Johnston Memorial Hospital. She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Robert Smith Gross and Nancy Hagy Gross; and brothers-in-law, Lee Preston (Bobby) Hall and Lee H. Martin. Survivors include her husband, William E. Martin Jr.; one son, William E. Martin III and Betty; two grandchildren, Steven and Virginia Lynn; five brothers, Robert Gross and Kathy, of Allentown, Pa., Henry Gross and Ann, of Tazewell, Va., Roscoe Smith Gross and Betty, of Kingsport, Tenn., Tommy Gross and Phyllis, of Tazewell, Va., and Ronald Gross and Carla, of Bristol, Tenn.; three sisters, Roxy Hall, of Troutdale, Va., Norma Deskins and Mike, of Tazewell, Va., and Geraldine Hankins and Panch, of Rural Retreat, Va.; and sister-in-law, Linda A. Martin, of Chilhowie, Va. Also several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, August 15, 2008, at Williams Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Candis O'Meara officiating. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Chilhowie. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Andy James Hall, Clint D. Martin, Andrew J. Martin, Roger Stamper, John Jackson and Jerry Jackson. Honorary Pallbearer will be Bob Fields. Arrangements by Williams Funeral Home, Chilhowie, Va.
