George Perkins Obituary

Mr. George Willie Perkins, of Roanoke, departed this life on August 16, 2008 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late Lazar and Pinkie Perkins on November 8, 1929 in Millen, Ga. He is survived by his wife, Lenore; four sons, Rainier, Lee, Norman and Edwin; three daughters, Cleo, Denise and India; three brothers, Charles, Albert and Mansoor, of New York City. He also leaves to mourn several grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, August 20, 2008, 12 noon at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church, 2128 Melrose Ave., NW, Roanoke, Va. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Friends may call at Serenity for viewing on Tuesday, 2 to 8p.m. Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home.

God Bless you and your family.
Mr. George was my neighbor across the hall at Westwind and he
was a great neighbor. I enjoyed knowing him and can still see his smiling face and I know he is smiling down on us today from Heaven.
