Robert C. Naff Jr.

Robert C. (Bob) Naff Jr., 77, of Boones Mill, died Thursday, August 14, 2008. He was a graduate of Boones Mill High School and attended Virginia Tech. Bob was a member of Bethlehem Church of the Brethren and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict. He was a dairy farmer most of his life, after which he was a bailiff for Franklin County Juvenile and Domestic Court and he was a part time guard at Ronile. Bob was a longtime member of both the Boones Mill Lions Club and Rescue Squad, and was a staunch Democrat and a devoted Boston Red Sox fan. In his younger years, Bob had lots of fun with his friends at the old A & V. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Hudson Naff; his mother, Clytie Jamison Naff; his father, Robert Chester Naff Sr.; and his brother, Euell W. Naff. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Mary Katherine Adkins and husband, Keith; stepson, John Clifford Simms; several step grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Mary Louise Hudson Williams, Martha Hudson Divers, Frances Hudson Dooley and Martha Ann Naff; and nephew, Leighton Naff. Also surviving are his very, very special friends, Judy and Mike Byrd; aunts, Jean Naff, Ethel Naff, Vivian Martin and Janet Sanders; and many cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, August 18, 2008, from Bethlehem Church of the Brethren with the Pastor Harold Moyer and the Rev. J. Willard Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 17, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Va.
