Doris McLawhorn Giannini

Doris McLawhorn Giannini, 73, of Ayden, N.C., passed away August 16, 2008. Doris was born in Ayden, N.C., the daughter of the late Warren and Mamie McLawhorn. She was preceded in death by her brother, Donald McLawhorn, sisters, Magdaleen Lackey, Frances Meyer, Virginia Ham and a granddaughter, Jacqueline Hansbrough. She is survived b y her husband, Richard J. Giannini, of the home; two sons, Shelton Shepherd, of Roanoke, Va., Sandy Shepherd, of Beaufort, N.C.; two daughters, Debbie Wilson of Burlington, N.C., Robin Greer, of Roanoke, Va.; one sister, Jean Allday, of Charleston, S.C.; four stepchildren; and several grandchildren. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11 a.m., with Elder Lou Roberts officiating. Entombment in Ayden Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Service, Ayden, N.C. The family would like to extend a heartfelt appreciation to all of her physicians, nurses, and care providers during her illness.
