Blanche Williams Obituary

Blanche F. Williams, 83, formerly of Roanoke, went to her heavenly home on Monday, August 18, 2008. She was the widow of Orville C. Williams and she was predeceased by her parents, Burnell Falwell and Lillivan Compton Falwell; and her sister, Vernell McGraw. She was a faithful member of Connelly Memorial Baptist Church. Blanche loved to travel and she enjoyed collecting teddy bears. She is survived by her nieces, Tamara Steffey (Roy) and Yolanda McGraw; her nephew, Audie McGraw (Lucy), all of Wise County; stepson, David Williams (Lee), of Lynchburg; stepdaughter, Brenda Vanderhoof (Gordon), of Ohio; two stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, Va. 24018 or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11537, Alexandria, Va. 22312. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at Oakey's North Chapel with the Rev. Brenda Rowe and the Rev. Helen Riley officiating. Interment will be held in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at Oakey's North Chapel. Arrangements being handled by Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
