Virginia Brubaker Obituary

Virginia M. Brubaker, 88, of Roanoke, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 18, 2008. She was a member of First Baptist Church for many years, where she was involved in The Heritage Ringers and Heritage Singers group, and was retired from Skyline Cleaners. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Edward McDonald and Bertie Cauley McDonald; and her husband, Edward M. "Ed" Brubaker. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Charlotte Brubaker, of Roanoke, Donnie and Dianne Brubaker, of Vinton, and Jim and Edna Brubaker, of Roanoke; her grandchildren, Steven Staton, Cameron Brubaker, April Brubaker, Blake Brubaker and Vicki Wade; four greatgrandchildren; a special cousin, Juanita Creasy, of Salem; special friend, Janet Barnett; her special friends and caregivers, Trouble, Jo, Linda, Audrey and the entire staff at Pheasant Ridge Nursing Center. Funeral services will be conducted noon on Thursday, August 21, 2008, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Charles Krause officiating. Burial will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221.
