Lewis Creasy Obituary

Lewis Melvin (Mel) Creasy, 88, of Daleville, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2008. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Polly W. Creasy; his parents, Henry G. and Rosie H. Creasy; his brother, Roy G. Creasy and his sisters, Georgia C. Kirby and Earleen C. Flora. He had been a member of Oakland Baptist Church since 1952. He retired from N & W Railroad as Assistant Auditor of Disbursements in 1980 with 39 ½ years of service. He was a past president and member of Blue Hills Golf Club. He was an avid golfer with four holes in one. He is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn Creasy; two sons, Alan W. and Gary M. Creasy; three grandsons, Mark, Billy and Chad Creasy; five greatgrandchildren, Tabitha and Erica Creasy and Jessica, Little Billy and Brooke Creasy; one stepgrandson, Nicolas Burkholder; and one stepgranddaughter, Angie Blatz and husband, John; as well as many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Oakland Baptist Church or St. Philip Lutheran Church. A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, at St. Philip Lutheran Church with Pastor David Derrick and the Rev. Scotty Carpenter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2008, at Oakey's North Chapel, 540-362-1237.
