Ferris Chitwood Kennett

Ferris Chitwood Kennett, 87, of 300 Pine Grove Road, Glade Hill, passed away on Saturday, August 23, 2008. Born November 9, 1920, in Franklin County, son of the late Kelly R. and Lucy Ada Chitwood Kennett. Also preceded in death by a father and mother-in-law, Oliver and Annie Powell; a sister and brothers-in-law, Christine and Buck Bradley, Walter Chilman; sisters-in law and brothers-in-law, Vera and Junior Dent, Silas Powell; a special nephew, Matt Nichols. Mr. Kennett retired from JP Stevens. Surviving to cherish his memory his wife, Dossie Powell Kennett, of the residence; daughter, Bonnie Kennett, of the residence, and special friend, Frank Quesenberry, of Glade Hill; son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Gina Kennett, of Rocky Mount; sister, Elizabeth Chilman; grandson, Bradley Kennett and special friend, Danielle Dettmer, of Rocky Mount; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Ira and Elsie Powell, Dennis and Janice Powell and Carrie Powell; a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from the chapel of Lynch Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 26, 2008, at 2 p.m. with Elder Clarence Stone and Walter Hughes Jr. from Redwood United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. Friends may call after 3 p.m. at Lynch Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, August 25, 2008.
