Regina Smith Memoriam
Over the course of the last year, my wife Regina "Ryckie" Smith and I faced the challenge of our lives as she battled Lymphoma till her passing on August 10, 2008 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, Va. Faced with the overwhelming task of contacting each and every person individually who touched our lives during her illness, I have chosen this announcement as a way to tell all of you how much we appreciate all that you done for us during her illness. First and foremost we thank our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who supplied Ryckie the strength to walk through the "valley of the shadow of death". To Him be the Glory. To Dr. Karri , Dr. Staykov, nurse Donna Proffitt and all the nurses on 6 West at Lewis-Gale Hospital, we thank you for all your hard work and compassion that you showed us. To Larry Lawrence and the crew at the Blue Ridge Vol. Rescue Squad, thank you for your quick response and the professional care given to Ryckie each time we called 911. To Dr. Michael Williams and everyone at UVA Medical Center who gave Ryckie the very best care we could have ever ask for, we thank you. To the nurses and the physical therapist at Heartland Home Healthcare who came in our home and gave Ryckie the care and help we needed, we thank you. To Dwight Studebaker and Calvin Austin at Lawrence Data Management, thank you guys for taking up the slack around the office and allowing me to take better care of Ryckie. To the folks at Lawrence Transportation Systems, thank you for the prayers, friendship and support you gave us. To the Pastoral staff and members of Green Ridge Baptist Church, we thank God that He placed us in your fellowship and care. You are the best and I love and appreciate all that you have done for us. Last and certainiy not the least is our family and friends. There are no words that can describe what the Lord has shown us through the compassionate care and unending prayer that you have given to us these past many months. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts, for we were very blessed and much loved. In Christ Jesus,
Dewey and Ryckie Smith
