Mary J. Egbert

Mary J. Egbert, 89, who had been residing at the Richfield Recovery & Care Center, in Roanoke County, passed away Friday, August 22, 2008. She was the wife of the late Kenneth W. Egbert. Mary and Ken lived together in the New River Valley area until his death in 2004. They had retired to Virginia from New Jersey in 1975. Survivors include her daughter, Sarah Jane (Egbert) Howell and son-in-law, Doug Howell, of Christiansburg; and son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Susan Egbert, of Roanoke County. Mrs. Egbert is also survived by four grandchildren, Maury and Kenneth Howell, and Heather and Lara Egbert. The family will have a memorial graveside service at their family plot in Marcella, N.J. at a later date. Memorial gifts may be made to the Salvation Army.
