Lucien Paul

Lucien (Lou) Paul, 91, of Daleville, passed away Sunday August 24, 2008. She was born in Berger, Missouri and lived in St. Louis for many years. During World War II, Lou worked for the Associated Press in Oklahoma City. In 1951 she married Gilbert Paul. In 1966, they moved to Roanoke with their two daughters. She was a devoted homemaker, mother and grandmother and enjoyed sewing and crafts. Through the years, Lou made many beautiful quilts, taught quilting classes, and donated baby quilts to charity. Lou was a member of Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church, as well as the Elks Club Ladies Auxiliary, Star City Quilters and the Newcomer's Club. Surviving are her daughters, Suzanne Paule and husband, Al Heath, Arrowsic, Maine, Marcia Logwood and husband, Mark, Daleville; grandchildren, Berkley Paule-Heath, Masha Paule-Heath, Devan Logwood, Emily Logwood, and Anthony Logwood. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or your favorite charity. Funeral mass will be at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church 11 a.m. Saturday, August 30, 2008 with the Rev. Msgr. Joseph P. Lehman officiating. A small luncheon reception will follow after the Mass in the Parish Hall. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
