Audrey Wetherington Obituary

Audrey W. Wetherington, 95, of Roanoke, passed away early Sunday, August 24, 2008, following a brief illness. The former Jasper, Fla., resident was born in Clearwater, Kan., to the late Louis and Pearl Miner Webb. She moved to Hamilton County, Fla., in 1936 where she and her late husband, Vernon L. Wetherington owned and operated the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company and later Wetherington Home Supply. Prior to moving to Roanoke to be closer to her family she was an active member at the First Baptist Church in Jasper, Fla. She was also predeceased by Floyd A. Lauterbach, her husband of a later marriage. Survivors include one son, Don Wetherington, of Fincastle, Va.; one sister, Mary Eaton, of Boulder City, Nev.; three grandchildren, Joe Wetherington, of Fincastle, Va., Laura Wetherington, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Elizabeth Wetherington, of Charlottesville, Va. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2008, at Hebron Cemetery near Jasper, Fla. A memorial service of worship to be held in Fincastle will be scheduled at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, 207 N.E. 2nd St., Jasper, Fla. 32052. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.harrytreidfh.com.
