Aileen Ranson Obituary

Aileen Virginia Ranson, 89, of Glade Hill, Va., and formerly of St. Albans, W.Va., died Friday, August 29, 2008. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, homemaker and a member of Rocky Mount United Methodist Church. Mrs. Ranson was preceded in death by her parents, John Marshall and Almeda Vickers Cunningham; her brothers, Marshall, John, James and Donald Cunningham; sister, Louise Vaughan. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, K.R. (Chib) Ranson; sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Belva Ranson, Don and Karen Ranson, Michael and Suzanne Ranson; daughter, Constance (Connie) Ranson; six grandchildren; 11 greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her special friends and neighbors, Luther and Rose Scott, Gary and Betty Hatfield. Special thanks to all of her caregivers at Franklin Health Care Center. A memorial service will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Thursday with the Dr. John Plummer officiating. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial gifts to Good Samaritan Hospice, 3825A Electric Road, S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24018. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
