Jacob Simmons

Jacob (Barry) Simmons, 56, of Moneta, died on Tuesday, September 2, 2008. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Peters Simmons Dameron. Surviving are his daughter, Cathy D. Wheeler and husband, Lance; son, Jay Simmons and wife, Maggie; father, Jacob Lester Simmons; sister, Carolyn Brown; brother, Terry A. Simmons and wife, Lorraine; grandchildren, Alicia Simmons, Jacob and Aimee Simmons, and Shay and Jessica Wheeler; special uncle, Russell (Butch) Peters and wife, Shelia; special friends, Blair, Betty and James, and Ann and Bobby; and a very special friend, his dog, "Sam." Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Ken Butterworth officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 540-982-2221.
