Edith Davis Obituary

Edith Pearl Corder Davis, 92, of Roanoke, died on Sunday, September 7, 2008. She was a resident of Elm Park Estates in Roanoke, Va. She was the wife of the late George Davis, of Worthington, W.Va. She was the daughter of the late Samuel Worthington Corder and Agnes Dora Will Corder, of Big Isaac, Dodridge County, W.Va. She was preceded in death by their son, Jimmie Lee Davis, of Shinnston, W.Va.; and daughter Pattie Jean Cater, of Greensburg, Pa. She is survived by son, Jack L. Davis, of Roanoke, Va.; daughter Judith Leydon, of Chapmanville, W.Va.; and seven grandchildren, John Davis, of Rocky Mount, Va., Thomas Davis, of Ashville, N.C., Carla Kuhlman, of Moontownship, Pa., David Cater, of Atlanta, Ga., Sheri Sauro, of Morgantown, W.Va., Shannon Beckwith, of Poquoson, Va., and Lee Ann von Egmond, of Pittsburgh, Pa. She also had five greatgrandchildren, Danielle and Nicholas Sauro, of Morgantown, W.Va., Amy and Jill Kuhlman, of Moontownship, Pa., and Krista Beckwith, of Virginia. A memorial service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2008, at the Harmer Funeral Home in Shinnston, W.Va. The family will receive friends one hours prior to the services at Harmer Funeral Home, 304-592-2500.
