I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Rev Sweet. I had the honor and pleasure of meeting him when he visited my Father in Law - Harry Parks, a few years ago. Mr. Parks and Rev Sweet had memories way back to when he was pastor of Cumberland Heights Baptist Church. Rev Sweet was a man full of life and full of the lord. He will be surely missed by all. The stories he could tell. These stories and memories now live on in the ones who knew him.

I remember Clayton crying when we would bring Amanda to church when she was little. He would always let her sing "Jesus Loves Me" in her own way. He had such a sweet heart. When we found out that she had Cerebal Palsy, Clayton was one of the people that reminded that God was in charge and let him do his work. He did his work and still is. Thank you for sharing him with so many of us.
Clayton will be missed, but we know that he is sitting beside our Lord and Savior right now. Our hearts and prayers go out to the family during this time.

Dear Wanda, Dwight and family, and Tim,
Although we are saddened that Clayton has left his earthly body, we take heart that he is in paradise. I consider Mr. Sweet a bold and unabashed man of God when he preaches and a kind, emotional man when he tends to the needs of the flock. He lived to the example of Christ as few have done.
Our hearts hurt for you. Please let us know if we can do anything.
Your friends in Christ.

Wanda,
You know what Clayton meant to our family, especially my Dad. He always called me Alice Marlene and his joy and laughter were contagious! Your wedding was the first one I can remember ever attending. He baptized Elaine and I along with half of Trinity Baptist youth and children. He was a true servant of God and he loved his God. He trully is in his Mansion Just Over the Hilltop! We love you all!

Brother Clayton was a blessing and a choice servant of Christ. Those were blessed times of fellowship that I and my brother Kenny had with brother Clayton and his folks when singing at his church. Our prayers are with the family and loved ones at this time. God bless his memory.
Rev 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
Rev 7:14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Rev 7:15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
Rev 7:16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
Rev 7:17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

Mrs. Sweet and Family,
I am so sorry for your loss, Preacher Sweet will be sadly missed. I am so thankful that I knew him. He was the closest you could get to God here on earth. I will never forget the way he preached, he didn't even need his bible to read from, he had all his scriptures memorized in his heart. He brought to us a message sent down from God above
He preached about God’s mercy, His compassion and His love. He was a wonderful man.
I know God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that he was suffering, He knew he was in pain, He knew that he would never get well on earth again. He knew the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, and God didn't want that for him so he decided he had enough and he took him home.

You all are in my thoughts and prayers.

Wanda,
What did I learn from Clayton? That God is in control of everything. That He loves us. That we are always in His care. That when people hurt you, and they will, you must forgive them. He had such compassion. He was always there. There has never been a more giving or loving man. He has touched more lives than we will ever know about. Through Clayton Sweet we that knew him can say we saw the heart of God. May God comfort you as only He can, and through us may you know that you are loved and not alone. God Bless you, the boys and Family.
