Elizabeth Johnson Obituary

Elizabeth Brown (Libby) Johnson, 73, of Glasgow, Va., passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2008, after a courageous battle with cancer without ever complaining and without ever losing hope. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward Lewis Brown Sr. and Mary Wilhelm Brown. She was a graduate of Natural Bridge High School, attended Richmond Polytechnic Institute, and graduated from Southern College. She had a gentle spirit and great capacity for love. Her thoughts were always for others before herself. She was blessed with many loving and caring lifelong friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Ward W. Johnson; her son, Ward Wood Johnson Jr., of Richmond, Va.; and her daughters, Sharon J. Keller and husband, Greg, of Canal Winchester, Ohio, and Robin J. Hall and husband, Bill, of Columbus, Ohio. She is survived by six dearly loved grandsons, Matt, Drew and Josh Keller, and Jamie, Clay and Tyler Hall. She is also survived by her brother, Edward Lewis Brown Jr. and wife, Clara; sister, Joyce Brown Thomason; sisters-in-law, Beulah Ruble, Hester Brads and Mary Tomlin; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Friday, September 12, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. A service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2008, at Harrison Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Conald Fogus. Interment will be at Glasgow Cemetery. Flowers are welcome, however, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society or the Glasgow Rescue Squad. Arrangements by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory, Lexington, Va.
