Margaret Minnix Obituary

Margaret Elizabeth (Chibby) Minnix, 85, of Vinton, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Pheasant Ridge Nursing Home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred David Minnix. She was a loving mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother and will be sadly missed by her daughter, Margaret M. Gamble (Meg); one grandson, Scot Overstreet and wife Wanda; one granddaughter, Shantel Overstreet Ramey and husband Alan; four great-grandchildren, Summer, Tatum, Ethan and Kevin; two sisters, Sue Brant and Doris Cox and husband, Tom; one sister-in-law, Christine Cadd; and three beloved nieces, Joyce Gearhart, Anne Huffman and Bonnie Magnotti. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nurses and CNA's at Pheasant Ridge for the care they gave Margaret. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2008, at the home of Margaret Gamble, 128 Old Brook Road, Vinton, Va. 24179. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 12, 2008, at Vinton Baptist Church, 200 East Washington Street in Vinton with Pastor Bill Booth officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton. There will be a meal of remembrance at the church following the Interment. The Minnix family is being served by Valley Funeral Service, 1609 Peters Creek Road, N.W., Roanoke ,Va. 24017, 540-562-1182.

I loved granny sooo much. she was always a trip!!! every day up untill she got really bad off i went and took care of her and stayed with her. when i was a baby she took care of me and then when she got older i took care of her! there isnt a day that goes by that i dont think about her. I look up at the sky EVERY day and feel like im looking at her. i think she makes the sky more beutiful now that shes up there! I am postitive she is looking down on me and can actually see now!! Granny spoiled me to dealth! She will be greatly missed and in my heart 4ever!! I love you Granny Grunt. Love always, Great-grandaughter Summer
