James Zeigler Obituary

James Wade Zeigler, 68, of Glade Hill, Va., died Thursday, September 11, 2008. He was born February 21, 1940, a son of the late Luther Bernice and Janie David Zeigler. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Nina Mae Davis; two nieces; and two nephews. Mr. Zeigler is survived by his wife of 46 years, Joyce J. Zeigler; his children and their spouses, Melissa and Troy Newcomb, Regina Belcher, and Steve and Kim Zeigler; grandchildren, Jennifer and Jay Poindexter, Jonathan Smith and Samantha Newcomb; great-grandson, Logan Poindexter; brothers, Pete and Judy Zeigler, Larry and Carolyn Zeigler, Barry Zeigler, Randy and Emma Zeigler, and Kenny and Anita Zeigler; sisters, Judy Bowyer, Nancy and Ravon Thurman; father-inlaw, Willie Guy Jones; brothersin-law, James and Merilyn Jones, Wilford and Beverly Jones, Tyree and Linda Jones, and Wayne and Linda Jones; sisters-in-law, Hazel Taylor and Barbara Jones; a number of nieces and nephews; and his canine companion, Midnight. A memorial service will be conducted 6 p.m. Monday, September 15, 2008, from Christian Fellowship Church with the Rev. Bill Doss and the Rev. Belle Robertson officiating. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. The family would like to especially thank Elaine Wilson and all of the staff of Gentle Shepherd Hospice for the care and kindness shown to Mr. Zeigler. The family will receive friends following the service and other times at the family home. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount, Va.
