Audrey Wetherington Obituary

Audrey W. Wetherington, 95, of Roanoke, Va., died Sunday, August 24, 2008. The former Jasper, Fla., resident was born in Clearwater, Kan., to the late Louis and Pearl Miner Webb. She had lived in Hamilton County, Fla., since 1936 until moving to Roanoke in 1997 to be closer to her family. She was predeceased in 1987 by her husband of 52 years, Vernon L. Wetherington. She was also predeceased by Floyd A. Lauterbach, her husband of a later marriage. Survivors include one son, Don Wetherington, of Fincastle, Va.; three grandchildren, Joe Wetherington, of Fincastle, Va., Laura Wetherington, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Elizabeth Wetherington, of Charlottesville, Va.; and one sister, Mary Eaton, of Boulder City, Nev. A memorial service of worship will be led by the Rev. Rodney Wilson and the Rev. Marina Gopadze at Fincastle Presbyterian Church in Fincastle 11 :30 a.m. on Friday, September 19, 2008. A previous graveside service was led by the Rev. Roger Hutto, pastor of First Baptist Church in Jasper, Fla. The family requests no flowers and suggests that friends so inclined consider a gift in Mrs. Wetherington's memory to her church of many years, First Baptist Church, 207 N.E. 2nd St., Jasper, Fla. 32052.
