James Milne Obituary

James Whitton (Jim) Milne Jr., 63, of Roanoke, Va., departed his earthly home to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Milne Sr. and Nancy H. Milne; and his father-in-law, Claude "Mike" Ellis. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Ellis Milne; one son, James "Whitt" Milne III, of Roanoke, Va.; his mother-in-law, Ruth C. Ellis, of Rocky Mount, Va.; his brother-in-law and wife, Harold H. and Marion Ellis, of Snow Creek, Va.; sister-in-law and husband, Linda E. Wilson and David Wilson, of Richmond, Va.; several nieces and nephews; and two great-nieces. Jim was a graduate of Greenbrier Military School and Virginia Tech was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he was a rotor wing pilot and he retired from the Virginia Department of Taxation. Graveside services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2008, from Franklin Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Rivers officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to First Christian Church, 344 Church Ave., S.W., Roanoke, Va. 24016. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 18, 2008, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Va.
