Ruth Reich Obituary

Ruth Renick Reich, 76, of Salem, Va., passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2008, at 4:10 p.m. She was born in Callaway, Va., on April 10, 1932. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, James R. and Berbee P. Renick; brothers, Wythe and Keith Renick; and brothers-in-law, Paul Reich Jr., Sidney Richardson and Milton Reich. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Joseph H. Reich Sr.; four children, Joe Reich Jr. and wife, Kathie, Linda R. Stump and husband, Curtis, Nancy R. Hammond and Bill Reich and wife, Marlene; four grandchildren, Cherie and Kara Reich and Paul and Rebecca Hammond; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary and Lucille Renick, Emma Reich, Kolmer and Loretta Reich, Louis and Ruth Reich, and Doris Richardson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the 5 West staff at Lewis Gale Hospital, Good Samaritan Hospice, and A+ Loving Care caregivers, Shermaine, Ruby, Pam and Asia, for the care given to Ruth during her illness. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2008, at Lotz Funeral Home in Salem. Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. on Monday, September 22, 2008, at Lotz Salem Chapel with Pastor John Abbott officiating. Burial will follow in East Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Salem, Va.
