Gene Hylton Obituary

Gene Hylton, 69, of Roanoke, passed away September 19, 2008. He was born in Roanoke, December 21, 1938, son of the late Walter and Essie Lee Hylton. His sister, Peggy Lewis, also preceded him in death. Mr. Hylton retired from the Accounting Department of Appalachian Power Co. after 40 years of service. He was an avid golfer and tennis player. He is survived by two brothers, Chik Hylton and wife, Pat, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Philip Hylton Sr., of Roanoke; nephews; Philip Hylton Jr., Jay Lewis, Brad Lewis, and Steve Lewis; niece, Chris Howell. Funeral services will be private. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, September 22, 2008, at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel, 540-982-2100.
