Julian M. Burley

Julian M. Burley, 77, of Moneta, died Saturday, September 20, 2008, at the VA Medical Center, Salem, Va. A son of the late Howard Thompson Burley and Viola Stinnett Burley, he was born in Amherst County on December 10, 1930. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Larry Burley; four brothers and four sisters. Julian was a United States Army veteran during Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myrtle Holland Burley; a son, Julian Marshall Burley and wife, Vickie, of Bedford; a daughter, Karen B. Prescott and husband, Robert, of Evington; a brother, Bernard A. (Pete) Burley and wife, Lucille, of Lynchburg; a sister, Anne B. Creasey, of Bedford; four grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday September 23, 2008, at Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev.
