Ruth Luckado Mask

Ruth Dix Luckado Mask, 77, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, September 24, 2008. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert and Howard Dix and sisters, Frances Kincer and Virginia McDowell. Mrs. Mask was a member of Colonial Avenue Baptist Church and was a retired registered nurse from the VA Medical Center. She was a member of the Electa Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star #33 and volunteered for the City Rescue Mission and Senior Friends at Lewis-Gale Hospital. Surviving are her daughter and special care giver, Lanie Luckado; daughter, Lisa Luckado Winters; son, Russ Mask; grandchildren, Nick, Jessica, Kylie and Emma; brother, Donald Dix and wife, Margaret. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Ken Nienke officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Oakey's South Chapel.
