Arthur Chester Mills

Arthur Chester (Chet) Mills, 56, of Boones Mill, Va., went to be with the Lord Friday, September 26, 2008. He was a lifetime member of Cedar Bluff Church of the Brethren. Chet loved music and enjoyed playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Arthur Mills. He is survived by his mother, Margaret E. Mills; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard Stephen Mills and wife, Patricia; a sister and brother-in-law, K. Corenne Slone and husband, Lacy; the love of his life, Joy D. Newton; also a niece, several nephews and many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2008, at Cedar Bluff Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Jerry Naff and the Revs. Lee and Robin Naff officiating. Burial will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The family would like to express special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of the 5th Floor West of Lewis-Gale Hospital for their care of Chet. The family will receive friends Sunday, September 28, 2008, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
