Clara Marie Beckner Austin

Clara Marie Beckner Austin, of Ferrum, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the age of 76 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Rosabelle (Rutrough) Beckner and one sister, Ruth Beckner Long. She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Wilmer Curtis Austin; one daughter, Marie Austin, of the home and special friend, Odell Sink; one son, Donnie Austin and wife, Rachel Bowman Austin; four grandchildren, Benjamin, Micah, Roseann and Laura Austin; one sister-in-law, Nannie Austin; two special nieces, Linda and Allen Harrison and Susan and Bill Jarrett; and other nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Pigg River Old German Baptist Brethren Church 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2008 with the Home Brethren officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Clearview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carilion Hospice Service of Franklin County, 180 Floyd Avenue, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151. The family will receive friends Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m. at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
