Elmo Nester

Elmo Nester, 83, of Woodlawn, Va., passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2008, at Golden Living Center Blue Ridge. Mr. Nester was born in Carroll County to the late Hardin E. and Lettie Horton Nester. He is survived by his wife, Theoa Vass Nester, of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Bill Webb, of Hillsville; son and daughterin-law, Ron and Susan Nester, of Galax; brothers and sisterin-law, H.E. and Ernestine Nester, of Hillsville, and Hassell Jack Nester, of West Virginia; sister, Edna Mae Riddle, of Martinsville; three grandchildren and spouse, Dedrian and Crystal Webb, Zachary Webb, and John Moses Nester; and two greatgranddaughters, Kira Webb and Haven Webb. Funeral services will be held on 2 p.m. on Monday, September 29, 2008, at Vaughan Guynn McGrady Chapel with Elder Robert Lewis Vass and Dr. Larry I. Vass officiating. Burial will follow in the Goad Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service. The family says that flowers would be appreciated, however, donations may be made to the New Fellowship Baptist Church, c/o Theoa Nester, 57 Bittersweet Lane, Woodlawn, Va. 24381.
