I see them up and down the road
and think of all the pain
The families and the loved ones left-
the hurt they must sustain
All along the backroads, up and down the highways too
But never did I ever think
there would be one for you.
I know the pain, I know the hurt
I know the heavy load
the loved ones and those left do bear
marked by crosses along the road
It may not mean so much to some,
to others they relate
We all must leave this Earth,
I know that is our given fate.
Until we meet again one day
We'll share this secret code
