Betty Pullen Obituary

Betty Lee Roe Pullen, 75, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, October 4, 2008, at Pheasant Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert (Bob) Pullen; and mother, Vola Chambers Roe Milton. Betty retired young in 1973, as owner and manager of Monticello Motel on Williamson Road in Roanoke. Left to cherish her memory are son and daughter-in-law, Michael (Mike) and Diane Pullen; daughter and fiancé, Karen Pullen Saunders and Rick Myers; granddaughter, Casi Saunders; and two great-granddaughters, Taylor and Cadence Saunders; sister-in-law Betty Harrison, Winston-Salem, N.C.; nieces, Kim Roe, Roanoke, Cindy Harrison, Winston-Salem; nephew, Dickie Roe and wife, Nini. Graveside funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Brian Gordon officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Oakey's South Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel, 989-3131.

I know that Betty will be truly missed. I loved seeing her every Friday in the salon and talking to her about her trips and her tooth-pick holders. She will always have a very special place in my heart and in my life.
