Alice Rosskopf Hamlett

Alice Rosskopf Hamlett, 77, of Savannah, Georgia, and formerly of Roanoke, Virginia, wife of Dr. Luther Johnston Hamlett, died Monday morning, October 6, 2008, at Hospice Savannah. Born in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Fred Rosskopf and the late Rosalie Nyfler Rosskopf. Mrs. Hamlett was reared in Luray, Virginia, and graduated in 1952 from the Medical College of Virginia. She and Dr. Hamlett were married in Luray in 1952. Mrs. Hamlett was a registered nurse who practiced nursing for many years. Dr. Hamlett practiced OB/GYN in Roanoke from 1957 until 1982. Surviving are her husband of 56 years, Luther Johnston Hamlett, M.D., of Savannah, Georgia; one sister, Rosalie Walter, of Boston, Massachusetts; and two nieces. No service is planned.
