Roy Cassell Obituary

Mr. Roy Waymon Cassell, 65, of Meadows of Dan, passed away Saturday morning at his home. He was born on December 9, 1942, in Patrick County to the late Posey Lester Cassell and Essie Clifton Cassell. Mr. Cassell was a retired superintendent with VDOT, drove a hauler for various NASCAR teams, and was of Baptist faith. Surviving are his wife, Angie Culler Cassell, of the home; one daughter and son-in-law, Jana and Michael Bush, of Spartanburg, S.C.; one son and daughter-in-law, Dewayne and Amanda Cassell, of Meadows of Dan; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kyle Bush; one sister and brotherin-law, Betty and Harlon Banks, of Meadows of Dan; and one brother and sister-in-law, Donnie and Norma Cassell, of Meadows of Dan. Funeral services will be held Monday October 13, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lonnie Hylton officiating. Burial will follow in the Plaster Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Vesta Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 238, Vesta, Va. 24177 or to the Meadows of Dan Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. 830, Meadows of Dan, Va. 24120. Online condolences may be sent to moodyfuneralservices.com.
