Florence Poe Obituary

Florence Ellen LaRue Poe, 85, of Dublin, and formerly of Pulaski, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 13, 2008. Born January 31, 1923 in Pulaski, she was the daughter of the late Reverend Walter LaRue and Eller Adams LaRue. Four sisters and two brothers also preceded her in death. She was retired from the former Dublin Garment Company. She attended the Peak Creek Mission of Prayer. Surviving are her husband of 67years, Walter Harmon Poe, of Dublin; two daughters, Janice Poe Lorton, of Dublin, and Joyce Poe Wilson, of Dublin; three grandchildren, Janella B. and Leonard C. Goad Jr. , of Indian Valley, Va., Valerie and Roger Harris, of Willis, Va., and Denise and Scot Saunders, of Draper; and five greatgrandchildren, Cierra Harris, Elizabeth Goad, Courtney Goad, Caitlin Saunders and Elijah Saunders. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2008, from the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. Dale Akers officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, October 15, 2008, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.
