Madeline Carter Waldron

1920 - 2008

Madeline Carter Waldron, 88, of Vinton, Va., went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday October 14, 2008. She was born July 4, 1920, to the late Wilton W. Carter and Aim Overstreet Carter. She was also was predeceased by her husband, Robert Lee Waldron; and a son-in-law, Cecil H. Jacobs. Madeline was retired from Eli Lily with 33 years service. Survivors include three daughters, Sandra W. Jacobs, Vickie Lynn Waldron and Kathie Ann Kirk and husband, Aaron, all of Vinton; two granddaughters, Laurie Mullins and husband, Tommy, of Vinton, and Kristin McKee and husband, David, of Winchester; one great-granddaughter, Natalie Mullins; and one stepgreat-grandson, Joshua Mckee; two sisters, Inez Fletcher and husband, Hubert, of Vinton, and Eunice Conner and husband, Wade, also of Vinton; and many nieces, nephews and special friends and neighbors. A service celebrating Madeline's life will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2008, from the Lotz Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Carter and the Rev. Tommy Hurt officiating. Burial to follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15, 2008, at the Lotz Funeral Home, Vinton Chapel.
