Mary Funk Obituary

Mary Sue Hall Funk, 80, of Roanoke, Va., passed from our earthly world on Wednesday, October 15, 2008. She was born April 13, 1928, in Wytheville, Va. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Reid Scott Funk. She was the last of the nine Hall children. We rejoice with her now, for she is reunited with her much loved brothers, sisters, and husband. Mary was previously a resident of Montvale, Va., where she enjoyed front porch sitting, watching the birds and petting her "grand pets." Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Cheryl Funk, of Montvale. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road, by the Rev. Raymond Christian. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon on Friday until service time. Arrangements by Simpson Funeral Home, 540-366-0707.
